Filmmaker Tom Weber (“Troubadour Blues”) made this hour-long documentary about the poetry scene in his hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania, a small post-industrial city with a wealth of creative talent. The focus of the film is Poets Hall, a neighborhood arts center on the city’s east side that hosts weekly open mic nights and performances by local and traveling poets. Erie County boasts a funded Poet Laureate initiative that celebrated its fourth year in 2015. This program and others like it are being broadcast by WQLN TV-54 in the interest of promoting local arts and culture in the economically challenged region.
